Jelena Rokvic, classical violinist, was born 1983 in Belgrade, Serbia.


Her first violin lesson was at the age of ten with teacher Snežana Kiš at the music school „K. Manojlović“ in Zemun, Serbia. At the age of 12, she made her debut as a soloist with an orchestra in Subotica and Belgrade, performing Vivaldi Violin concerto in A Minor. At the age of 16 she began her violin studies with teacher Michael Frischenschlager at the University for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. In 2008 she graduated with best marks and got an  M.A. degree. 


During last couple of years she intensively studied Baroque and Contemporary music (the 20th-21st century), two opposites but manageable, which helped her to develop as a true musician. This freed her of the bondage of musical trends and helped her to better understand the roots, while at the same time Jelena stayed open to the something new.


Jelena performs on modern and baroque violin, viola and piano. During her studies she had an opportunity to work with some wonderful teachers as Elzbieta Wiedner-Zajac, renowned pianist and composer, that inspired her playing not only piano solo, but to perform as an accompanying pianist as well. This experience gave her a new perspective by learning new pieces. 


She won many prizes, diplomas, scholarships and recommendations from national and international institutions and sponsors. She recorded for national and international TV and radio stations as a soloist and chamber musician and worked with Vladimir Spivakov, Erich Grünberg, Uros Lajovic, Charles Castleman, Maurice Bourgue, Leonid Peisahov, Christian Altenburger, Marialene Fernandes, Teresa Leopold, Chaya Chernowin, Johannes Meissl and Aleksandar Pavlović. Since 2006 she performs in a duo with a pianist Katarina Hadži Antić Tatić (FMU Belgrade).

Jelena took part in the music festivals "Savacium Music Fest", "Vrnjci Fest", "Cupra Maritima", "International Summer Academy Vienna–Prag–Budapest", "International Summer Academy Mozarteum" Salzburg, "Estate Musicale" Portogruaro. 


In October 2008 she began her specific postgraduate studies at the University for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna with teachers Ingomar Rainer and Jocelyne Rainer-Gibert, in the subject „Historical instrument performance“, which include performing on the baroque violin. She is a member of „Collegium Musicum“ of University for Music and performing Arts in Vienna, ensemble that performs on original instruments.


In summer 2009 she was a guest teacher at „International Music Festival VRNJCI“ in Serbia.


Since 2010 she teaches violin at the music department of the Faculty of Philology and Arts (Filum) in Kragujevac, Serbia.
